A coating system
designed for Clay Bricks and Concrete Brick and
Blocks used in masonry walls. The GRS System as
a whole converts the conventional brick wall
surface to a highly weather resistant and
environmentally stable exterior wall surface
providing other than strength, protection and
gives an aesthetic finish to the wall. Prior to
application please refer to the Product Data
Sheet (PDS) for comprehensive product
information and Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS) for safety information. |

SYSTEM PRODUCTS |
Base Range Step 1:
Strong Base Coat |
Forming
part of the Multitex Wall coating system,
Multitexs Dry Mix Render is a superior quality
cement based, polymer modified render. It is
easy to apply, has excellent adhesion and
strength. It is used as a preparation render
coat with the purpose of leveling the
brick/block wall for an even true surface.
Render coat provides the ideal base for the
subsequent application of Multitex Texture and
Final Range coatings. |
Base
Range: Dry Mix Render Medium or Coarse
Render Coats: As
required |
| Primer Range Step 2:
Protective Primer Coat |
Roller
applied Multi-Prime is used as a protective
undercoat primer for the MULTITEX coating system
and is applied to the render substrate to unify
the substrate porosity and reduces consolidates
suction, it ensures maximum intercoat adhesion
and provides excellent key for following texture
and topcoats. Multi- Prime can be tinted to
required colour. |

Range: Multi
Prime Coats: 1 |
Decorative Range OPTION
Step 3: Decorative Texture Coat |
The
texture coat provides the desired look, finish,
integrity, flexibility and long term durability
to the entire cladding system. The trowel on
textures generally is a one coat application,
firstly using a steel trowel to spread evenly
and secondly floating off with a plastic float.
Can be colour matched to an extensive range. The
roll on texture is also a one coat application,
using different set of roller profiles fine,
medium or a coarse finish can be obtained. |
Decorative
Range: Trowel Texture or Roll on
Texture Coats: 1 |
Final Coat Range Step 4:
Durable Top Coat |
Roller
applied Multitex Shield is recommended as the
top coat for the system, this is a specifically
designed product for exterior performance and
durability, and is a protective coating for the
base system configuration providing other than
colour (in extensive range) flexibility,
resistance to dirt pick up, resistance to
atmospheric pollution, Ultra Violet, moisture
ingress and salt penetration. |
Final Coat
Range: Multitex
Shield Coats:
2 | |
|
|
Dry
mix texture applicationThis system also
has an option at Step 1a to use dry mix
decorative base range texture (not-tinted) in
place of Step 3 coloured wet mix decorative
texture, when selecting this option it is
mandatory to prime and top coat the texture for
colour, durability and system warranty.

The

generally is a one coat application, mixed with
water on site, it is applied firstly using a
steel trowel to spread evenly and secondly
floating off with a plastic float. This texture
is not coloured and to attain the colour
required, texture surface has to be primed and
top coated in the colour desired with two coats
of Multitex Shield. |

Additional Important
Information |
| |
|
Surface Preparation All
surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry, be
free from all contamination. Attention to
substrate preparation plays an essential role in
achieving a quality result. Follow
instructions as mentioned in the system product
data sheets for specific
surfaces.
Application Multitex
products must only be applied in air
temperatures between 10oC and 30oC on a dry
substrate and must be protected from rain and
frost for the first 24 hours or finished work
must be protected from rain, frost and severe
weather conditions until fully
dried.
Coated area must be protected from
damage until the completion of the project;
finished work must be protected from rain, frost
and severe weather conditions until fully
dried.
Do not apply if air or surface
temperature is below 10oC or likely to fall
below 10oC during the drying
period.
Refer to the label and ensure
proper product is being applied as per the
recommended systems product
configuration.
Thoroughly mix contents
prior to application to ensure consistency of
product and colour. Most of the products are
ready to use, DO NOT THIN DOWN unless
recommended.
Application methods depend
on type of products and each product is designed
to be applied with a specific applicator, either
by Trowel, Roller, Brush or
Spray.
Wash Up Most
products are water based, and tools wash up in
clean water.
